Helen Murgatroyd
Helen Murgatroyd makes print editions centred on the themes of food, still life imagery and the domestic everyday.
Motivated by a search for self-sufficient printmaking her practice combines the home kitchen with the print workshop, attempting mass-production on a domestic scale. Inspired in part by the ideals of cottage industries Helen explores repetition, devising hand-built contraptions and modifying tools as well as using traditional relief print processes to allow her to create reproductions of her drawings.
Helen did an MA in printmaking at the Royal College of Art and has shown her work mainly in galleries in the South West. Helen lives and prints in Bude, Cornwall.
