Cherylene Dyer
Cherylene’s painting centres on the human form, isolating her subject she depicts people who are often absorbed in another world of their making. Her models are singers, dancers and actors and their profession is often reflected in Cherylene’s representation of them. She seeks to evoke a certain atmosphere or emotion her painting, detail in the background is kept to a minimum and the narrative left open to interpretation.
Cherylene was born in Dumfries on the Scottish Borders. She moved to Glasgow to Study Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art, and has lived there ever since. She had won awards in Scotland for her painting and exhibited there and in London.
