A series of four recent works conceived together for exhibiting at Hybrid.

Absorbed in her own private space, each of the female subjects in Cherylene Dyer’s paintings appear divorced from the rest of the world. Eyes shut or with a distant gaze they are held in a moment of contemplation. Cherylene exposes their vulnerability through a stance, an incline or gesture and imbues the painting with emotional intensity.
