Geology is at the core of Bridget’s ceramics and alchemy plays a leading role.

Working predominantly with porcelain, Bridget mixes in other materials, often site specific clay to create texture and colour in her work. Having built the vessel she will then scrape back to reveal the strata and takes risks firing at extreme heat to bring out the contrasts.

In some pieces she will incorporate materials relating to the place or emotion that inspired them; drawings, maps and hand written notes hint at a place or time of significance.

Bridget studied for a degree in Applied Art at Weston College, Somerset and has recently relocated to the Roseland Peninsular, Cornwall.

Bridget's work will be featured in the summer exhibition, Escape, 22 July - 26 August.
