Linda’s work is concerned with Nature and includes the close study of nests and fruits, of berries and blossom resting in treasured bowls. It also encompasses broader views of the woodlands surrounding her home.

Linda works from a shepherd’s hut designed as a studio which nestles in the countryside on the edge of Glynde in East Sussex. She paints outdoors and in the studio, beginning with observation of her subject followed by contemplation and experimentation. She paints in oil on canvas and on the smooth surface of aluminium too. She also makes etchings using copper plates, often printing with chine collé and weathered papers.

Rather than figurative representations of a location or subject, Linda’s work expresses the sensations experienced within the countryside and offer a sense of time and place.

Linda was born in Lincolnshire, she studied Fine Art at Grimsby School of Art and at Kingston University. She shows her work in Sussex and London as well as at Hybrid in Devon.
