Plummeting watery depths and travelling back in time Adams explores Other Worlds in his collection of images created for his annual summer exhibition.
Some images are fantastic; scantily clad women who free dive to a sunken village, others evoke a longing for a simpler life at a slower pace; the leisurely train journey sustained with a cream tea.
Each of these images Adams fills with detail; of the buildings, countryside, dress and expression to create small windows into these worlds. Looking through this portal we can imagine whole lives lived in harmony as friends and family share the joy in working and playing together.
Adams grew up in rural Wiltshire in the 1960’s and has made pictures all his life. Fascinated with rural history, the factual and folkloric, he absorbs images and experiences which are transformed through the filter of his imagination into his fantastic images of life and love.
