Lifted out of their usual context the subjects of Lee Madgwick’s paintings become curiouser the more one looks. When derelict, abandoned or isolated we are led to contemplate what is missing and to create alternative narratives to explain the image before us.

Lee has exhibited in Norfolk, Cambridge, Amsterdam, Dublin, London and New York. He is a member of the RBA and in 2015 exhibited in Dismaland, the art project curated by Banksy.
