The orangery with its associations of warmth, the exotic, of wealth and pleasure epitomises this series of paintings from Richard Adams. His hothouse cultivates not only the citrus fruit but fairies and dryads who shape shift beside tea takers, the mystical coexisting with the mundane in comfortable eccentricity.  Adams has an even eye, the ordinary depicted in equal measure as the fantastic; a generosity of spirit gathers up wealthier with poorer folk and nourishes them with a rich and vibrant imaginative life.

Richard exhibited with his daughter Evie May Adams who showed her hand painted ceramics.
