Daniel Morley
Dan Morley is an emerging artist, he has no formal training, he paints objects as he sees them. Whilst his work is representational of the subject before him, his choice of media and composition allows him to explore emotive themes.
This series of paintings explores the symbolic or metaphorical meanings that seemingly insignificant objects can suggest.
Dan uses small pieces of re-purposed wood, often the remains of old fence panels or pallets as his ground, employing their age and texture into the composition. Natural and man made items are chosen and grouped to stimulate associations and realistically rendered in oil. Dan’s meticulous presentation of these collections is intentionally reminiscent of museum display cases.
